Event Basics

Join us April 1–4, 2027, at DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh – Green Tree, 500 Mansfield Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. Workshops, competitions, and social dancing take place at the host hotel. Plan your trip →

We’ve built the weekend around three things we love: meaningful learning, exciting competitions, and plenty of social dancing. Core and Explore work together to help you develop your dancing, competitions offer opportunities to challenge yourself, and social dancing starts at 10 pm so there’s time to enjoy the floor. Every part of the weekend gets thoughtful attention. Discover the thinking behind 3RS →

No partner needed! You can attend workshops and social dancing on your own. Our Jack & Jill competitions also pair you with a partner, so you don’t need to bring one to enter.

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, and bring dance shoes, a water bottle, and anything you need for a full day of dancing. A change of clothes can be helpful between workshops and evening dancing.

Passes & Registration

Your Full Weekend Pass includes Core and Explore workshops, watching the competitions, and social dancing throughout the weekend. Add-ons, such as competition entry fees and intensives, are purchased separately. See passes and add-ons →

All purchases are non-refundable. If you can’t attend, you may sell your pass at or below its original purchase price, subject to our transfer requirements and deadline. Please review our Terms of Sale for the complete policy.

Classes & Beginners

Yes! Our Beginner Track is a welcoming introduction to West Coast Swing, with no prior dance experience required.

Join us Saturday, April 3, from 7–9 pm Eastern Time in Duquesne. Admission is $20, or included with a Full Weekend Pass or Saturday Pass.

Your admission includes the two-hour beginner class, watching Saturday night’s Champions Jack & Jill in the Main Ballroom, and Saturday-night social dancing. See Beginner Track details →

Core and Explore are designed to complement each other. Core provides longer, focused sessions with time to understand, practice, and apply essential concepts. Core classes have defined placement requirements so instructors can tailor the material to each group.

Explore lets you choose the topics that appeal to you, discover different approaches, and challenge yourself. Its suggested levels help you decide which workshops may be the best fit; they aren’t enforced. Explore the learning experience →

Core placement is based on your WSDC division, with classes for Novice+, Intermediate+, and Advanced+ dancers. Each class offers focused instruction tailored to the dancers in that group, and placement requirements are enforced.

If you believe a different Core class would better suit your experience, we offer a placement audition. Check the schedule for audition details before joining a class outside your assigned placement. See Core and audition details →

Competitions & Dancing

Register online in advance or at the event before the competition registration cutoff listed on the schedule. Competitors must have a Full Weekend Pass, pay the applicable entry fees, sign the liability waiver, and be at least 16 years old. Competitors under 18 need a parent or legal guardian to sign the waiver in person.

WSDC skill divisions follow your eligible level and role under current WSDC rules. Sophisticated and Masters eligibility is age-based, and the Tournament welcomes all skill levels. If you’re unsure where to enter, contact us before the event; petitions must follow WSDC requirements.

Pick up your bib at least one hour before your first competition, and be in the Main Ballroom at least 15 minutes before your competition. See competition details → · Read the full Contest Rules →

Social dancing starts at 10 pm. We planned the weekend to give social dancing ample time and attention, with an earlier start so you can enjoy more of the night on the floor. See the nightly schedule →

Schedule & Travel

Our online schedule includes workshops, competitions, and social dancing. Search by activity or instructor, use filters to narrow your options, and choose Search all days when you want results from across the weekend.

Open an activity to read its description and any additional instructions or important information. Some activities include notes about participation, separate purchases, or when to arrive. Select Show full schedule to clear your search and filters and return to the complete weekend. Explore the schedule →

Yes! Open an activity, select Add to My Schedule, and use the My Schedule tab to see your choices together. For competitions, you can indicate whether you’re watching or competing.

Your selections save automatically in that browser. Use Save / Share to copy your plan to another device, print it, or download a calendar file to import into your calendar app. Shared links, printouts, and calendar files are copies, so create a new copy after making changes.

Adding an activity to My Schedule helps you plan your weekend; it doesn’t register you for a competition or purchase an add-on. Build your schedule →

Code of Conduct

Every dance is a choice.

3RS is built on connection, and connection only works with consent and respect. These apply to everyone — attendees, staff, volunteers and vendors.

  1. Ask, and accept the answer. Anyone can decline a dance for any reason, no explanation needed.
  2. Dance for your partner. Adjust to their comfort and level. No aerials or dips on the social floor without consent.
  3. Respect bodies and boundaries. Harassment of any kind — physical, verbal or online — is not tolerated.
  4. Look out for each other. If something feels wrong, inform a member of staff or report it through our online reporting form.
  5. Consequences are real. Violations may result in removal from the event without refund.
